The API Individual Certification Program (ICP) exam provides the petroleum industry with an independent and unbiased way to evaluate the knowledge and experience of personnel who perform inspection activities during the construction of new pipelines, tanks, and facilities.
Increasingly, operators throughout the United States and Canada are requiring API certification as a condition of employment. Candidates who wish to advance their inspection career with an API certification can ensure their success on the exam by taking one of our prep classes. Graduates of our courses consistently achieve industry-leading pass rates on API exams.
API ICP exams are only available to candidates who meet the minimum work experience requirements. Candidates should begin by visiting the API ICP website and verifying that they meet the experience minimums for their desired examination.
Exams are held several times per year during specified testing windows. HFS offers an exam prep course prior to every testing window. Candidates should select a test window that meets their schedule and contact HFS for guidance in submitting their application to API, enrolling in class, and scheduling their exam at a Prometric testing center.
All of our API exam prep courses are available as both a classroom course, here at our training facility in Edmond, OK, or as an online self-study course, accessible from anywhere.
Both formats give trainees access to all the necessary reference documents, course slides, and our unique API computer-based testing simulator.
Our instructors are more than industry experts, they are API-certified inspectors with a passion for teaching. They have helped hundreds of candidates achieve passing scores on their API exams.
No other course can match the reference access, computer-based test simulation, and trainee support that you will receive from HFS. From your initial application all the way through your exam, our team is here to ensure you receive a passing score.
